Bobby Bikes Launches Public Comment Period on Downtown Pedestrianization Plan
PITTSBURGH, PA — July 29, 2025 — The Bobby Bikes for Mayor campaign is inviting Pittsburgh residents to participate in shaping the future of the city’s streets. Today, the campaign announced the opening of a public Request for Comments period on its first draft model for pedestrianizing downtown Pittsburgh and surrounding neighborhoods.
The campaign is seeking feedback from city residents who care about the future of Pittsburgh’s urban core. The comment period will run from now through September 1, 2025.
“This is a people-powered campaign, and we want to make sure our vision for a more walkable, livable Pittsburgh reflects the voices of the people who live and work here,” said Bobby Bikes. “We’re excited to hear your ideas, concerns, and suggestions.”
The draft model outlines a phased approach to transforming key downtown corridors into pedestrian-first zones, improving safety, accessibility, and vibrancy. The final proposal, incorporating public input, will be released on September 15, 2025.
Residents can review the draft and submit their feedback through the official campaign survey at:
