Bobby Bikes Unveils “Bike Lane Bounty” Proposal to Get Pittsburgh Residents Paid

PITTSBURGH, PA — July 28, 2025 — Mayoral candidate Bobby Bikes is putting money on the table with a bold new proposal: the Bike Lane Bounty Program, a plan that pays Pittsburghers cold, hard cash for catching cars parked in bike lanes.

Under the program, residents will be able to use their phones to snap photos of vehicles blocking bike lanes. Once verified, the city will issue a ticket and send 100% of the fine directly to the person who reported the violation. Fines will be set at $500 for non-commercial vehicles and $2,500 for commercial offenders.

“This is simple,” said Bikes. “You see a car in a bike lane, you take a picture, and you get paid. That’s how we clean up the streets and put money in people’s pockets.”

Bobby Bikes, known for his flexible approach to politics and firm belief in rewarding loyalty, says the program is a win-win. It protects cyclists, puts cars in their place, and gives residents a direct financial incentive to participate in civic enforcement.

“People are tired of watching violators get away with it while they get nothing,” Bikes added. “This flips the script. If the city’s going to collect fines, the people should collect the money.”

The program would be powered by a mobile app or web portal where users can upload timestamped, geotagged photos. Once reviewed and confirmed by city enforcement, the fine is issued and the payout is processed.

Bikes says the program is designed to be self-sustaining and highly motivating. “This isn’t about punishment. It’s about profit. If you want to make money in Bobby’s Pittsburgh, all you have to do is keep your eyes open.”
